Information about Travel Segments
The agency is responsible for updating all Travel Segments. All PNRs with travel segments are placed in Queue 93 category 0. Here's a list of reasons why a segment gets converted to a Travel Segment (TVL):
  • Schedule change detected in the original PNR
  • Schedule change detected during the upload process
  • Invalid Segment Action Status code
  • Retention segment
  • MK Car and Hotel segments

Some instruction for working PNRs with Travel Segments can be found at the bottom of this page.

Schedule Changes Detected in the Original PNR
Schedule changes are detected from the captured PNR during the conversion process. We have no choice but to convert the segment as a TVL segment. All of the original information is placed in the Free Form field of the Travel Segment.

Schedule Changes Detected During the Upload Process
Any time a schedule change is detected during the upload process, we convert the segment as a TVL segment. All of the original information is placed in the Free Form field of the Travel Segment.

Invalid Segment Action Status Code
All segments containing an invalid action code are converted to a TVL. An example is the UN action code. It is not possible to convert a segment as UN, so therefore, this segment is converted to a Travel Segment. Be sure to visit the Amadeus to Travelport Segment Action Code conversions page
