American Airlines (AA) to Restrict Partial Cancel of Married Segments
Effective August 11, 2009
Currently, American Airlines may deny a partial cancel of a marriage or a partial cancel/rebook of a marriage based on the availability of the new request. Effective August 11, 2009, upon activation of the AA change, AA will deny all partial cancel and partial cancel/rebooks with married segments.

Beginning August 11, 2009, AA will not allow the following:

  • Partial cancel of a marriage
  • Partial cancel/rebook of a marriage in a single entry

In order for a Travelport-connected agency to successfully rebook part of an AA marriage from a displayed itinerary, the agent must make two separate entries:

  • Cancel all segments in the marriage and
  •  Book the new desired segment or segments in a separate entry
